I got caught off guard, now they know! (vampire story idea)

So there I was, working on the second book manuscript of The Golden-eyed goddess (and maybe having scrolled social media a bit, aha). The oddest thought came to me, what if vampires were capable of taking pictures, but had to be ready for them?

Check this out:

vampires that can actually take pictures, but only if they prepare for it. If they are caught off guard, they won't show within the picture.

Lance is an ordinary highschooler, or so he thought. All of his life, he was taught to make sure to always be "camera ready". Other students were also identified with this, due to their parents always wanting school pictures.

However, on Lance's graduation night, he was caught off guard by his high school sweetheart. She rushed up to him, phone in hand and clumsily took the picture.

She did not discover until later that night at home however, that he wasn't within the picture! She was holding air. Confused, she confronted him about it via text.

Lance was actually awake at that time, sitting with his parents. He was shocked by the picture. His parents glimpsed the photo and quickly took the photo.

It was then that they explained him, what happened, who he truly was and what he would have to protect against in the future.

Just an interesting point of view on story as old as time. Hope you enjoyed.
