Working out to Cope with Anxiety

These days, my medicine coordinator has put me on abilify. Compared to earlier medications that I have been on, I have to say - it definitely helps the depressive side of what I have going on.
However, I have notice that it leaves me with a feeling of wanting to "jump out of my skin" anxiety. Which isn't too great, but if you're a person who deals with anxiety, I'm sure you have some go to coping mechanisms.
I prefer trying to get the anxiety out by increasing my heart rate. I've recently been trying some different athletic coping mechanisms. Things like jumping squats, lunges, half squats or even learning a new dance (within my arm pain capacity). My favorite go-to though will always be taking a walk in a non-crowded area.
Let me tell you, it has been helping so much. But there are still days when it isn't enough. Sometimes the best thing you can do for yourself is just get some rest and really try and talk yourself through it.
Keep breathing life,
Sheridan
(P.s. my thighs have been on fire because of all the squats - maybe temper how many you do throughout a day)
